It’s time for last call for any January newspaper inserts to be turned in for Labels for Education. All must be received by 2/29/12 in order to receive full credit for our points. Even if it’s not full, please send it in.
It’s been an exciting month with lots of labels turned in. With your help Matsunaga has collected more than 11,000 points! It’s a great time to check your pantry too since we have a three day weekend. Don’t forget, we will be having a contest to celebrate the top three classes that send in the most points. Check out the leading three classes below to see who your competition is.
Mrs. Bennett with 613 points
Mrs. Fitch with 458 points
Mrs. Webster with 272 points
Remember to put your teacher’s name on your baggie or envelope so that it counts towards your child’s class. The contest will end on 4/11/12. The contest winners will have an every flavor Pepperidge Farm Goldfish party on Friday, 4/13/12.
With your label contributions we have reached our goal to receive six playground balls and ten indoor board games. With this collection we were able to do it all over again! I can’t wait to see the smiles on the kid’s faces when they arrive.
Please remember to clip the entire UPC. Labels for Education will not count it if they only receive the logo. Some items do not have a logo, so please check out the participating products list on the PTA website. While you are at the website you can download collection sheets too. The collection box is in the front office.
Check out www.ELabelsForEducation.com to sign up your Safeway bonus card. We earn one point for every participating product purchased.
Thank you for all of your support. Your kids appreciate it.

Wow, what a response! I’d like to thank all the families that have been participating in Labels for Education. With your help sending in labels and the special newspaper bonus insert, Matsunaga has collected more than 7,000 points!
We will be having a contest to celebrate the class that sends in the most points. Your points have already been entered under your teacher’s name if you put your information on your baggie. The contest for sending in your labels will end on April 11th. This will give you all of Spring Break to remember to clip your labels. I always try to clip my boxes, jars and cans when I am putting them away right from the grocery store. The contest winners will have a Pepperidge Farm Goldfish party on Friday, April 13th.
With your label contributions, we have been able to purchase ten board games for indoor recess, and six balls for outdoor recess. I’ve heard the kids were really excited to see new balls on the playground. The third grade classes were the lucky recipients of the board games. Our goal is to try and get the same items so we can support another grade and lots of outdoor fun.
Please remember to clip the entire UPC. Labels for Education will not count it if they only receive the logo. (Sample below)
EARN 100 Point Bonus! Check Your January Paper!
Labels for Education will offer a special collection sheet for bonus points in your newspaper on January 8th, 2012. Check it out!
Look for the collection sheet, and turn in completed sheets by 3/9/12. If you can’t finish a collection sheet, send it in anyway. You never know what your fellow students will be sending in.
Did you make green bean casserole for the holidays? Did you check your cans of cream of mushroom soup and gravy? Some of these items in your pantry already have labels on them. It’s not just Campbell’s anymore. Some of our favorites are Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, breads and cookies, Prego sauces, Spaghettios, Post Cereals, Danimals Crush Cups and Pop Secret popcorn. Did you know some of the magazines you pick up at the checkout counter have labels too?
Campbell’s has a fabulous website where they offer coupons for their family of products. You can also find them on Facebook. And some time in January, Labels for Education will be on Facebook too.
Don’t forget, our contest is still going strong. The class that sends in the most label points will win a Pepperidge Farm Goldfish party with all your favorite flavors.
Labels can be sent in at any time, just send to school in a Ziploc bag marked with your name & teacher so your class will get credit!

This year, Matsunaga will be restarting the campaign with Campbell’s Labels for Education. For more than 38 years, Labels for Education has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal. Best of all, the labels are on items you already have in your pantry.
Today, over 60,000 schools and organizations are registered with Labels for Education, benefiting more than 42 million students. Over the years they have been able to provide more than $114 million in merchandise to America’s schools!
Clip and Earn Free Stuff for Your School
Step 1: Clip and save UPCs and beverage caps from participating products. Products listed at matsunagapta.org.
Step 2: Give the UPCs/beverage caps to your teacher or drop it off in our special Labels for Education box in the front office. When the whole school participates, the points really add up! Collection sheets are available at matsunagapta.org, but you can send them in baggies or envelopes too.
Step 3: Earn FREE Stuff for Your School – Matsunaga can redeem Labels for Education Points for FREE educational resources! We have set our goal to earn 5,000 labels. We can do it if every child sends in just five labels.
Please contact your coordinator, Beth Landis at bethlandis9@verizon.net with any questions.
