LOOKING TO STAY ACTIVE AND GET INVOLVED WITH MATSUNAGA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL? THEN WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!! IN SEARCH OF VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST IN COACHING GIRLS ON THE RUN AT MATSUNAGA FOR SPRING 2012.

You DO NOT have to have a daughter in at Matsunaga and/or in 3rd through 5th grade to be a coach.

Girls on the Run of Montgomery County is an after school program for 3rd through 5th grade girls with its focus to promote healthy choices and inspire physical activity. The program begins in March and lasts for 10 weeks. The girls meet 2 times per week, either in the morning before school or the afternoon after school. As a coach, you will supervise and guide each lesson to include discussions, games, and running practice. Ultimately, you will be preparing the girls physically for a 5k (3.1 mile) running race, and mentally for various life issues pre-teen girls typically face. No running experience required, but definitely helpful! If you are interested or would like more information on the program, please contact Traci Levine at tlevine13@gmail.com.
